Clinton Fearon

Clinton Fearon is a Seattle-via-Jamaica-based singer-songwriter who has earned his place as one of the Pacific Northwest’s premier practitioners of soulful reggae. Fearon, 64, originally cut his teeth as a bass player, vocalist, and lyricist for legendary Jamaican roots-reggae group, The Gladiators. He was also a sought-after session player during this period of his career, cutting smooth basslines with top producers like Lee “Scratch” Perry & Coxsone Dodd. Fearon left the Gladiators and moved to the USA in 1987. He has performed and toured regularly since, both acoustically and with his “Boogie Brown Band.” “I write from my heart,” says the man himself. “My music is good for the soul - always with a message of hope and betterment for tomorrow. It's good for dancing, good for listening and I think it's good for all.”

For our reggae faithful we are excited to bring this unforgettable show to put an explanation mark on our most successful year and to celebrate the holiday season. For the first time in seven years Victoria BC Ska & Reggae Society is excited to welcome back reggae legend Clinton Fearon to Victoria. Since his last appearance Clinton has been gaining traction and playing all over the world at various festivals and large events. For this show Clinton is excited to share tracks from his all acoustic album called "Survival Vibration." Released in April of 2024, this album is a rare all acoustic release with 11 conscious rootsy tracks. Yankee Nupe of Reggae-vibes.com praises the album and said in his review, " The guitar playing is top-notch, and the perfect vehicle for Fearon’s crisp, and still-strong voice." That's the thing about Clinton Fearon that is so special. The man barely ages!! His voice and delivery on stage still draws in anyone who is watching and listening. We are blessed to have him come to the Island.

Joining this triple bill is Caleb Hart who will be playing as a duo with Rhett his band mate. Caleb Hart originally from Trinidad and Tobago but now residing in Victoria, has worked with us on many legendary shows since he came to BC in 2016. In 2023 he played a headlining show at Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival and earlier that same year did a three date tour with Macka B & the Roots Ragga Band. Previous to that Caleb Hart opened for Culture ft. Kenyatta Hill and even the legendary Toots and the Maytals at Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival with his former band Tasman Jude. On this particular show he will play last and close the evening.

To open for this historic night we are very excited to work with TK the Artist for the first time. He will be performing as a duo or trio in the styles he loves best. TK blends Afrosoul/Jazz, Gospel, RnB, and Afrobeats into a soulful experience. Originally from Nigeria and now living in Victoria we are excited to have him and his band mates make their debut with us on this Acoustic Reggae Holiday Celebration!
