Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra will be happy to come back to the Island after their recent move to Toronto earlier this year. Nanaimo hasn't seen the band in quite some time so it will be a home coming of sorts especially since they will be playing the Victoria Ska Festival a week later on July 11th at Ship Point.
It's hard to pigeon hole Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra into a particular genre. Tango, builds up with African Rythms, hooks you with some gypsy-roots-grass riffs, and pours out psychedelic waves of sound walls to a crisp finish. Not to sound too much like a bottle of wine, but The Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra are ageing well. Early tours had them playing pop up shows across Europe, hitting the streets and festivals across Canada and the US, and carefully cultivating a solid reputation as dedicated, talented and ambitious young musicians. The past two years has seen the band headlining festivals and stages across Canada and the Pacific NorthWest.
