Event Archive - Canadian Punk Extravaganza
Sat. September 9th 2023 at Centennial Square Victoria BC
6:30 PM - 10:00 PM doors at 6:00 PM
Free
Presented by: Victoria BC Ska and Reggae Society
Due to a logistical mishap we had to find a new venue for Belvedere, Shallow End and SAFE DECISIONS that was originally scheduled for Sat. Sept 9th at White Eagle Hall.
So we thought really hard about it and decided that we'd do the community a solid and make the show OUTDOORS, FREE and ALL AGES with BEVERAGE SERVICE for 19yrs+ w/ID.
So the date (Sat. September 9th) will be the same but the venue will be at Centennial Square in Downtown Victoria. The event will go from 6pm -10pm.
Now we can fit four times as many people and have even more space to dance (rain or shine).
All ticket holders will be refunded forthwith!
Thanks to City of Victoria Arts and Culture Department for their support on this one!
Victoria BC Ska & Reggae Society is excited to present our first post Ska & Reggae Festival show since our unforgettable 5 days and nights of music, food and visual arts this past June.
We're excited to announce Canadian legendary skate punk outfit BELVEDERE returns to Victoria with special guests Shallow End and Safe Decisions to White Eagle Hall for an all ages throw down on Sat. September 9th.
The combination of these three bands is pure positive punk energy! And even if you're not a punk fan you'll easily be able to recognize the talent of all three of them.
For starters, Belvedere have been tearing up their touring schedule around the world since they played their sold out limited capacity show at Victoria Event Centre in October 2021 with Fableway and Blacked Out. In addition to their most recent album Hindsight is the Sixth Sense released in May 2021, the band toured to thousands of dedicated fans in Brazil and all over Europe tour since that time. This past spring they completed a full Eastern Canadian tour with Victoria Ska & Reggae Society alumni Mad Caddies. Now fresh off that tour they're coming back to the west coast where they love it most here in Victoria at White Eagle Hall.
Shallow End and Safe Decisions have also been busy this past year. For those of you that attended, Shallow End were also direct support to Choke who decided to come out of the woodwork and do a Western Canadian tour in February of this year. And Safe Decisions played at Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival at Ship Point this past June.
